For Desirae and Alex, two things were non-negotiables when it came to putting together their perfect elopement day: they had to go off-roading and they had to have their beautiful pup, Odin, with them.

Not going to hear any complaints from us!!

We knew Ouray was going to be the perfect spot for them: it’s super dog-friendly and the off-roading is exceptional.

With their closest family in tow, we headed up to the most spectacular alpine basin for their first look and ceremony. It may have been raining but nothing could dampen these two’s spirits! They were smiling, laughing and having fun all day long. And, ohhhhh, did that moody Fall weather make for some epic photos!

After their ceremony, Desirae and Ale sealed the deal with a custom branding ceremony. This was a first for us and we thought it was the coolest thing! Alex had handmade their own metal brand and, after heating it up with a blowtorch in the rain, they branded a piece of wood they’ll display in their home.

*** Side note: we would NOT do this if there was a fire ban in place, or even a slight risk, but weeks of rain meant we were safe to do so. ***

We then all headed back down the mountain and were soon treated to bright blue skies and blazing sun: typical Colorado weather! Desirae and Alex and their families celebrated an epic day with bubbles and a ‘tail-gating cake-cutting’! That was an first for us and, you know what, we reckon it should be a ‘thing’! So fun!
