Why hire a couple as your elopement photographers?

  • No awkward third wheel situation! It can sometimes feel a little weird having just one other person tag along on the most intimate day of your lives. With two of us, it’s more of a super fun double date vibe!
  • We have VERY different creative eyes, which means more variety in your photos. It’s amazing how one beautiful moment can be interpreted in such different ways!
  • We can offer fully personalized ceremony officiation. There are many solo photographers out there who will sign your license, but they can’t logistically lead your ceremony and take photos at the same. We can!
  • You have the option to add on a mini video to your photography package, too, so we really can keep it as simple as the two of you and the two of us.

“When the big day finally came and we met Vanessa and Chad in person, we were immediately greeted with warm hugs. Ryan and I didn’t know what to expect going into this. We’ve never gotten our pictures done before and, to be honest, we were a little nervous. But Vanessa and Chad truly made us feel so comfortable and it felt like we were spending the day with two great friends who just so happened to be taking our pictures!.”

‘Home’
is wherever we are with each other

We bet you know that feeling! It’s a pretty incredible thing.

Hey there! We’re Chad and Vanessa, ‘The Outlovers’.

Originally from Scotland and the US, we met in Honduras and spent the first few years of our relationship working as pro scuba divers in Indonesia, Fiji and Tonga. We now call the west of Colorado home, right on the border with Utah, and we love exploring our mountains and desert.

We’d guess that your relationship has been built on the strong foundation of a love for adventure, travel and the great outdoors?

Yup, ours too.

It’s kinda hard to plan an elopement from afar, right?

Don’t worry, we’re you’re destination elopement experts.

We’ve traveled to something like 50 countries between us: from trekking in Nepal and Peru, camper-vanning in New Zealand, going on safari in Africa, and swimming with humpback whales in Tonga…

We don’t say all this to boast.

We say it so you know you can rest easy in the knowledge that we have the skills and experience to help you plan your elopement, whether it’s in a place we know inside out in Utah or Colorado, or in some far flung destination on the other side of the world!

“Chad and Vanessa made all my worries go away. I don’t have words for how AMAZING, caring, kind and attentive they are! They planned a beautiful, intimate day that matched our personality and relationship, and was solely focussed on us. They made our day feel natural, easy, carefree and FUN. It was full of laughs, love and adventure!

What’s our ‘photography philosophy’?

  • Photographs tell the story of a life well-lived. Imagine cuddling up together when you’re old, and looking back on all the fun, adventurous and meaningful things you’ve done with your lives.
  • Amazing photographs are the DIRECT RESULT of you having an absolute blast on your elopement day. So, let’s plan an experience, not a photoshoot.
  • None of this is about Instagram, none of it. Let’s capture the real you, not some fake Pinterest-worthy version.
  • There’s nothing more beautiful than an image that balances an in-love couple as part of an epic landscape.

Where it all began

We met in Honduras through scuba diving. It was an immediate connection, and a clear sense of ‘Oh, wow, so you’re my life partner, well that’s pretty cool!’. We moved in together on Day 2!!!

How did WE get married?

We eloped ourselves in South Africa: wine lands, safari, the ocean…. Our day was relaxed, fun and so darned HAPPY. That’s what we want for you!

What makes us happiest?

The outdoors is where we feel most alive, most like ‘us’. We feel at peace and at easy. Simply put, we feel HAPPY. Disappearing down dirt roads is our favorite pastime and we’d rather camp under the night sky than in a 5* hotel any day!
