Telluride, is a sweet little town nestled deep in the San Juan mountains of western Colorado. It was a former gold mining town in the late 1800s and now boasts all the charm that tides over from that, including no end of old historic buildings and friendly locals who have a deep sense of pride in their town. It is a bustling mountain town in Summer, and a high end ski resort in Winter, so you’re going to find tons of great places to stay, shop and eat and drink.
Telluride is surrounded endless beauty that could fill a lifetime of exploring: whether you’re looking for mountains, alpine lakes, Aspen forests or crashing waterfalls for your elopement day, you’re going to find it here!

Hey! We’re Vanessa and Chad, a husband and wife team AKA ‘The Outlovers’, and we’d love to be your TELLURIDE elopement photographers.
With its small mountain town charm in abundance, Telluride stole our hearts when we first moved to Colorado and we’re now proud to call ourselves semi-local Telluride photographers.
We live just 2 hours away (for somewhere as remote as Telluride, that’s pretty darned local!) and we spend half of our elopement season shooting all throughout the area’s rugged peaks.
Having explored Telluride inside and out over the years, we know alllllll the best spots to take you for your elopement day.
And we’re not just talking about all the Instagram hotspots that eeeeeveryone goes to. Heck no! While Vanessa helps you ground yourselves in the moment and guides you through your ceremony, Chad will still be there capturing every tender moment. This is the beauty of hiring a duo!

Coz photos and video go together like peanut butter and jelly (or gin and tonic, your call)!
For those that would like their love story captured in motion, we offer a mini videography package as an entirely optional add-on to your photography.
We’re going to take all the most special moments of your day and create a beautiful 3 minute highlight video, as well as a simple recording of your whole ceremony.
Just imagine being transported back to that magical day when you’re grey and old, looking back on a life well-lived.
And for all those people back home wishing they could have seen the moment you got married? BOOM. There ya go!

PLEASE NOTE: we specialize in ‘just us’ elopements but we do take on a handful of super small elopements each year (max 15 guests).

WHEN?
June through August if you want lush greens, full alpine lakes and popping wildflowers. September and early October if you want more muted tones, cooler temps and color-changing Aspen trees. December through March if you’re looking for a snow globe winter wonderland!
AVOID: April and May. This is known as ‘mud season’ in Colorado. It can still be snowing heavily but then along comes a super sunny day and it all melts and turns to mush.

One of the best bits of our job is getting to know your wants/likes and then drawing up a custom shortlist of locations for you to choose from!

HOW?
To make your elopement legal, you can apply for your marriage license in person at the county clerk’s office in Telluride, open Monday-Thurs. It is valid immediately.
In Colorado you do NOT need witnesses or a legal officiant. Super easy!
