“When we started to plan our wedding, we knew we wanted something small and intimate. After doing some research, and looking at venues, which seemed so overwhelming and stressful; and quite frankly not what we wanted – we stumbled upon The Outlovers page. Something about hiking and eloping in the great outdoors truly spoke to our souls! When the big day finally came and we met Vanessa and Chad in person, we were immediately greeted with warm hugs. Ryan and I didn’t really know what to expect going into this: we’ve never gotten our pictures professionally done before, and to be honest we were a little nervous and felt awkward. But Vanessa and Chad truly made us feel so comfortable, and it felt like we were just spending the day with friends who happened to be taking our pictures. They truly went above and beyond and made our day SO magical, and captured so many beautiful moments that we will cherish forever!” – Victoria.
Victoria and Ryan’s Moab elopement was an ADVENTURE! It’s not every day your bride declares “I nearly died twice today!” and then cracks up laughing…
Let us share their story:
We all started the day pretty relaxed, with a sunrise hike up to our favorite arch in Moab, so Victoria and Ryan could enjoy a first look and their ceremony in the peace of the first morning light, long before the majority of tourists have even made it out of bed!
Then the fun really began!
Victoria and Ryan went horse-riding along the base of the La Sal mountains on the edge of Moab and, honestly, we all felt like we’d stepped straight into a movie scene! Ryan was legit James Bond and no one will persuade me otherwise. And Victoria looked AMAZING with her Grace Loves Lace dress draping over her horse’s back.
It was, however, at this point Victoria had her first ‘brush with death’! Her horse took a disliking to her wedding dress (totally fair play, not the lovely horse’s fault!) and decided to try and buck Victoria off. Not a chance! Daaaaamn, that girl got AIR but she wasn’t letting go for no one! What a champ.
In the afternoon, we ventured out to another remote arch, just as a moody storm rolled in. We managed to evade the rain but were getting hit with gale force wind just as Victoria and Ryan were trying to navigate a very narrow ledge up and over and into the arch! Hence the ‘I nearly died twice today’…..!!
But, truly? It was EXHILARATING! Victoria and Ryan were amped up and grinning like mad things by the time they finally found shelter, snuggled up and tucked into their celebratory pizza.
Victoria and Ryan got rewarded with the most insane sunset. We reckon there’s gotta be a lesson about marriage in there, right? Riding out life’s storms together….
