A Stunning Fall Elopement In The Ouray Mountains
Delanee and Derek could not have been any luckier with the perfect weather Mother Nature graced them with at the tail end of Colorado’s Fall season, what a perfect day!

A perfect Colorado Fall elopement…
When you decide to elope in Colorado at the end of October, you better be ready for an adventure! While early October is somewhat predictable in terms of the weather, by the end of the month things are much more up in the air and, truly, anything could happen. Well below freezing temps and a crazy snow storm are not at all out of the question!
So, when we were in the planning stages of Delanee and Derek’s elopement day, we legit put together 4 completely different timelines based on 4 completely different locations with varying degrees of accessibility: that way we could be prepared for whatever was thrown our way!
Well, whatever the opposite of ‘jinxing’ things is? We did it.
We got PERFECT weather: blue skies, sunshine and mild temps. And no snow meant we could make it to one of our favorite locations, which had maybe a 5% chance of being open at this time of year. So lucky!
Delanee and Derek planned their first look close to town, so they could spend as much time together as possible. From there, we picked up their families and headed deep into the mountains. After doing the thing and getting MARRIED, they celebrated with a super cool ‘Til Death’ cake, and first dances not only with each other but also with their parents. So sweet!
We wrapped up the evening with gorgeous sunset photos and some of the most beautiful, emotional private vows we’ve ever witnessed.
What a day! Thank you Delanee and Derek for inviting us in, and THANK YOU Mother Nature for treating us so gently!!
