A Beautiful Telluride Elopement Full Of Love, Laughter… And Pizza!

Maria and Doug (and they gorgeous floofball of a doggo!) chose the beautiful surrounds of Telluride, Colorado to share their vows and formally commit themselves to one another after more than a decade of shared life.⁠

They THRIVE on being out in nature together, so we hit up multiple locations on their elopement day: they enjoyed golden meadows, a secret waterfall (that we’d been DYING to share with the right couple!), rugged peaks aplenty, a gorgeous alpine lake and long distance views for daaaaays.⁠
⁠

After a sunrise first look by the lake – where they started off back to back so they could feel each other before they got to see each other – we headed deeper into the mountains to hold their ceremony. Not only did they share personal vows but they surprised each other with a poem they’d selected for the other. It was such a sweet touch, and even a little inquisitive bird came in to listen!

Then we set off hiking for our secret waterfall. It felt like we’d all been transported to a magical fairy wonderland, and Maria looked quite the part with her amazing cape veil!⁠ Doug and Maria tucked into a yummy DIY charcuterie style picnic and, since they’d forgotten their fancy champagne flutes, chugged their champagne straight from the bottle!

Our evening plans were nearly thwarted as Doug and Maria got a flat tyre just minutes before we were due to set off. But we quickly drove to meet them, threw all of their stuff in our vehicle, loaded on up and whizzed on out, keeping a close eye on the clock! ⁠

We’d lost time and knew we wouldn’t be able to make it to the spot we were aiming for, BUT we had a little inkling that a fairly nondescript overlook on the way would actually be AMAZING at sunset! Check out the last pictures and we think you’ll agree…⁠

While we waited for the stars to come out, Maria and Doug tucked into pizza and more champagne (in their cute glasses now!): best wedding meal ever in our opinion! ⁠

And then, WOW, did the stars show off for these two. The most incredible end to this perfect elopement day spent out in the heart of nature.
